Every start has an end, it’s the fiitest quotes that could picture the situation, On February 28th 2009 at Rima’s house(TM manager) there was farewell party for one of LC UD families from Belgium, Marelise Naeyart. The event started at 7 pm till 10pm. It was short but really made great memories. The farewell party was so special, why? Because there was delicious food that ready to be eaten. Belgium Spaghetti, sate madura, and bakso pak kumis were the menu. And the greatest thing was, it’s FREE!!! Hahahah… no wonder why so many Aiesec members and EPs very pleased to come, besides wanna say goodbye to Marelise.

Many interesting sessions were held on that event, such as “schulling games” where all EP’s who attended were divided into two groups and they competed each other to drink soda and when they finished they should put the glass above the heads and said “schull”) it was very fun and both groups tried their best to become the winner but in the end Karin’s group was the winner. After that, the sharing times started, Marelise was stood up in front of the people and shared “ guys, thk you so much for everything. It’s been almost 3 months,(started on December- February) I lived in Indonesia and helped out running PBOX ROAR 09, many experiences I’ve got for that time bitter sweet we felt together..and no doubt it was so useful and unforgettable for me!!” in my opinion Aiesec is a good organization!! I felt the experience when I got a chance to join Aiesec LC UD activities ,,especially PBOX and Aiesec National Conference 2” said marelise enthusiast. When someone asked her how about her impression about Indonesia , she directly answered “uhm ..i really confuse to answer the question HAHAHAHAHH! Indonesia is developing country which still have many problems in HIV/AIDS spread but many good things that I learned in Indonesia everything is cheap here, I love that..hahahah and the culture are great also all Indonesian people especially LC UD are so friendly, they always smile and help me out to fix my problems especially my sister RIMA who always cheers me up..when I’m down” thank you so much!!” “thanks because you’ve been nice to me as a host family sisJ!!”. What a touching moment!

And Rima shared too, she said thanks god she met marelise. It was so precious experience lived in her family. She’s like our family and I’m totally sad when she must leave Indonesia L.” Rima said. When the clock shown 10pm, it was the time for us to go home and say goodbye to marelise. But before that OCP PBOX ROAR , Rendi, gave handicraft to marelise like photos and of course we were taking pictures together . hehehe..we also wrote down our testimony for her and finally we were saying goodbye here..good bye marelise!! We hope you will come back to Semarang and thank you so much for helping Aiesec LC UD to run PBOX ROAR, give our warm regard to your family and friends!! Bye-bye!!

Welcoming party for our new EP Karin...

It was raining day, but it absolutely wasn’t decreasing our spirit to make welcoming party, for our beloved EP from LC Tilburg University, Netherlands, Karin van Berck. On Saturday night February 27th 2009 and started at 7 pm till 9 pm. After long discussion, we decided to choose Orchid garden restaurant, at Singosari street no.12 as the place to gather, because it’s cozy. While we ordered the food, Karin introduced herself and explained why she chose Indonesia and what kind activities that she will do. This 22 year-old girl also said that she will help running PBOX HIV/ AIDS 09 “ROAR”. Because she was very care and interested about HIV/AIDS in Indonesia. What a cool attitude! Two thumbs up!. After that the dinner came and we enjoyed the food, Karin ordered “sate ayam” with lontong and it seems she was very glad to taste new food that she had never been eaten before. Welcome to our beautiful country Karin, and we hope you will have many experiences in Semarang, especially when helping PBOX “ROAR” team !! J

Her farewell party was held in Age’s house, member of AIESEC Local Committee University of Diponegoro (LC UD) and also Kylie’s host family. It was raining hard, but the enthusiasm of aiesecers to follow this party were very high. Kylie was born in Japan, but now she is studying in Victoria University, New Zealand, that’s why she was marked as EP from New Zealand, not from Japan. Chie Kelly Onuma came to Indonesia to join HIV/AIDS project of Aiesec LC UD.

The farewell party was begun with dinner, after that kylie enjoyed playing uno card with the other. At 9.30 kylie gave her speech, “Thx to everyone who attend my farewell party, I’m so afraid coz as we know it was raining so I guest only few people will come, but I’m totally wrong…there are so many people in here. I’m so happy about that”, “ I got a new spirit and because in my university EP from outside is rare, so It’s a challenge for me to improve that part” said kylie with full smile. She thank Age and her family as her host family, she also asked LC UD members to go exchange to New Zealand. At the end of the farewell party, we took pictures and said goodbye to kylie. Honestly, I didn’t know anything about it, hahaha, and the most exciting moment is when I had to interview the “sissy” with the NGO. At the first I was afraid, you know. But then, I realize that they’re just the same as ordinary people, and they’re so friendly 3)as a newie I got so much learnings. I understand more about AIESEC, like Aiesec values, envision, etc. 4) I also get a lot of friends like you guysJ

Zia : I’m glad to hear that..it’s a precious moment, rite! Kylie what are your next plans?

Zia :Cool..it’s long journey and great vacation kylie….u told me that u are newie, rite? so what are your next plans in your LC?

I got new sunshine and it was like people slapping on your face! I realized that Aiesec is a big organization and always give postive impact to their members. I want become VP ICX so badly.., because in my LC only have 20 members so I think it’s easy for me to grab that position (hahaha hopefully). Thk you so much LC UD..

The special thing from this ANC was the election process to choose new president Aiesec Indonesia term 09/10, which is called MCP. And also there was election to choose Vice president who help MCP to run Aiesec Indonesia, or called MCVP. The OC Records this ANC had followed by about 80 delegates and most of them were the executive member and successor from each LC.

Shortly, it could be described that the programs of ANC II were running well. During 4 days and 3 nights, the ANC always started with opening plennary and ended with some cool parties. In opening plennary, there were roll dance (the unique dance that only aiesec has), gossip box, punishment, and wishes. The parties held with some theme such as Latino style and drakula night. It was really fun!

On the first day (27 January 09), the ANC II started at 1 pm. And officially opened by Dante the chair of ANC II from mexico. After that, the delegates got a presentation about “Aiesesc way”, in generally this material explained about what makes @ difference with another organization, and it really useful for delegates to increase understanding about @ and get answer why @ way are really good and important for them. Little boring but it had to be learnt, rite??!hehe. The next session was about learning from NGO which was care about the spread of HIV/AIDS from injection, they called themselves “PERFORMA”. Every delegates seemed enthusiastic and curious, it can be seen from a lot of questions that they asked for. The session was interesting! Besides there were great games about HIV spreads and also there was simulation about how to use condoms properly. “I swear to god, this is my first time to use condom! I feel disgusting at first, the condom a little bit sticky coz the rubber surface was covering with some liquid..but it was pretty good for my sex education hehe”, said Eka one of delegates from LC UD. Good Job PERFORMA!.....After dinner, learning network day session was held by 3 entrepreneurs from India who helped LC UD to run PBOX entreprenurship. They were Kuntal, Sudhir and Sidhard and They were so inspiring and pushing our spirit to become a young entrepreneur. COOL!....The last session on the first day was latino dance party which was held at 11 pm. There was a competition about latino dances and every LC sent their representatives. Everyone were so creative and made a free style latino dances!haha.

On the 2nd and 3rd day (28-29 january 2009), it was all about MCP & MCVP election. After opening plennary, there were education about the election process of MCP. And then the election was held. First, Jenni the MCVP Exchange and also the only one candidate for MCP explained to all delegates about her vision, strategies, and why she applied MCP 09/10. Noah from LC Bandung, Masaru from Aiesec Japan, and Natasha from aiesec Slovakia. And there were only one candidate for MCVP Finance, Andra from LC Bandung. Just like what Jenni did, Andra and Noah also very great when explained about their vision and strategies. They presentation were good and make everyone felt admire (about their motivation to apply MCVP). Finally after the long process, This 4 candidates were chosen and passed to the next round. Congratulations everyone!

On 4 th day (30 January 2009) After opening plennary there was held video competition, about promotion Aiesec Indonesia. Every LC made a great video and it really had made the judges confused to choose the winner. The judges were all international delegates, and they were kylie, marlies, and Doria ( LCP from LC Malaysia). Finally they decided that video promotion from LC UD became the winner!! Yeah.. “Honestly we got headache to determine who is the best, but based on criteria such as : information, creativity, and uniqueness, we finally chose LC UD as the best video promotion, every LC made an outstanding Video, but LC UD gave more information about the current activities in UD and so much interesting event especially about PBOX Environment! Good Job LC UD!” Said Kelly one of the judges. After the competition, the delegates went to the serious moment. The Topic was about analyze current LC condition. Every delegates were decided into several groups, first session mixed up and 2nd session based on per LC. It had so many learnings & inspiring moment, coz every delegates could share about the strength and weaknesses of their LC to another. But before the first session started, they gathered based on their department, such as communication, ICX, TM, etc and they analyzed current condition of department (all LC) snd wrote down the results into the flipchart and stick up to the wall. Every LC could follow the activites which they thought better than them, just like how succesfull open recruiment LC Bandung, and another LC could get learning from that. This session gave many advanteges, one of them had make all LC in Indonesia can achieve their goals and hopefully become the best @ in the world..Yeah Spirit!

When the clock shown at 6 pm, The ANC II officially ended, and it was time to the last closing plennary.
