Hi AIESEC!!
On Saturday, February 13th 2010, PBoX ROAR 2010 held an event named Launching PBoX ROAR 2010 in Vina House Semarang. Started from 10 am, this event had an objective that is to hold an opening of the PBoX ROAR, so from that time PBoX ROAR was officially started.
PBoX ROAR itself was held by AIESEC LC Universitas Diponegoro and it stands for Project Based on eXchange Red Ribbon Alert and this PBoX is held based on global issue HIV/AIDS. Theme of PBoX ROAR itself is "Put Your Red Ribbon Back On"
So, what's going on during the Launching PBoX ROAR 2010?
Approximately 80 participants came to this Launching PBoX ROAR 2010 and they enjoyed all the sessions. From senior high school students, reporter, college students, AIESEC'ers, and teachers came to this event. Attended as the speakers of talkshow, drh. Dwi Yanni L, M.Psi (a psychologist and Board of Advisor of AIESEC LC Universitas Diponegoro), Mas Yoyok (a representative from NGO named Graha Mitra, Semarang), and a PWHA (people with HIV/AIDS positive) increasing the participants' spirit to enjoy the event from the beginning until finished.
drh. Dwi Yanni L, M. Psi gave a speech about psychology side of the correlation between teenagers, drugs, and HIV/AIDS. Mas Yoyok gave an explanation about the differences between HIV and AIDS. And PWHA (people with HIV/AIDS positive) shared his story about his experience during using drugs that made him become a positive HIV person.
Besides that, our Exchange Partcipants from China named Ye Han and from Taiwan named Brady Lin and Ada Wang also being speakers there to share the HIV/AIDS in their country, China and Taiwan. Another interesting moment was displaying a photo gallery about HIV/AIDS captured by a photographer from Semarang named Surni Ayat Maher. The other one, there was a white ribbon that had to be fulfilled by red papers from all the participants about their opinion of HIV/AIDS. So, from white ribbon it would be a red ribbon, as a symbol of HIV/AIDS.
