Launching PBoX HIV AIDS Red Ribbon Alert 2011

Saturday, February 5th 2011, AIESEC Local Committee Universitas Diponegoro held seminar and talkshow “Launching PBoX(Project Based on Exchange) Red Ribbon Alert 2011” at Vina House, jl Diponegoro 29 Semarang. The theme of this seminar was “Let’s Save Young People from HIV AIDS through Better Education”, and this event was one of the series of PBoX HIV AIDS Red Ribbon Alert 2011 events.
About 130 participants came to this seminar. We invited students of high schools in Semarang and students of universities in Semarang as our participants; our local partners which were 90,2 TRAX FM Semarang, Hucle, and Hegrid Café; our beloved Board of Advisor; and also national and local media such as 105,2 SS FM Semarang, Kompas, Manunggal, Opini, Berita Kampus, Pro TV, and TV Borobudur.
We had great external speakers that gave awesome experience, Drh Dwi Yanni L, M.Psi (psychologist, veterinarian, and lecturer of Universitas Katolik Soegijapranata), Priyadi Nugraha, S.Km,M.Kes (lecturer of Public Health Faculty UNDIP), Agus Wirawan (Yayasan Harapan Permata Hati Kita Semarang), and we got a great sharing from ODHA (Orang Dengan HIV AIDS) from Semarang Plus. He told about his life, his experience , and also his motivation to keep up and still be a productive human being in his society. And thank you to our beloved BoA, Prof.Ir Eko Budiharjo (former Rector of Universitas Diponegoro) and ibu Cindy (owner of Vina House Semarang) to attend and gave speech in this event.
All the participants were very proactive, not only that they asked many questions, some participants were invited to play a game about HIV AIDS knowledge. The last but not least, sharing of EPs (Exchange Participant) from Nigeria (Onyinye) and from China (Jenny, Doria, Angela, and Fan-fan) about HIV AIDS condition in their country.
We got many knowledge about HIV AIDS that we can’t get in another place from this seminar, what we can do as young people to stop HIV AIDS, how to be young people that can be more respect of ODHA and more aware of HIV AIDS issue, and how to give more positive impact to society by being the young people that have a strong desire to stop AIDS.

  1. I just saw on the news that according to a report from CDC, the number of gay people on the largest HIV dating site STDslove. com has reached 310,000. This site seems to be powered by plenty of fish and most of the gay people on it are sexy and good looking.

    Personally, I have no objection to gay marriage. My concern is that more and more gay men get STDs. It seems that gay men is easier to get an STD and they even don't know when they have it.
